This course examines Isaiah’s prophetic ministry through judgment, repentance, deliverance, the holiness of God, and the hope of restoration. Students study the historical context of Judah, the spiritual meaning of exile, and Black American uses of Isaiah in preaching, prayer, and struggle. The course teaches how to read prophetic judgment without losing sight of mercy and the promise of a remnant and a new day.

BMCB BCH 302 — Jeremiah: The Weeping Prophet and the Burden of Knowing

This course studies Jeremiah’s calling, resistance, grief, warning, and the difficult task of speaking truth to a people who would not listen. Students examine judgment, false prophets, the new covenant, the purchase of the field, and the hope that remains in the midst of destruction. Jeremiah becomes a lesson in spiritual courage, emotional endurance, and the cost of truly hearing from God.

BMCB BCH 303 — Lamentations: How to Grieve What Has Been Destroyed

This course examines Lamentations as a sacred text of grief, loss, and honest lament before God. Students study how to mourn without losing faith, how to name devastation, and how to sit in the reality of what has been taken. The course teaches that lament is a necessary part of healing, both for individuals and for communities, and provides a Biblical framework for mourning that recognizes pain without abandoning hope.

BMCB BCH 304 — Ezekiel: Prophesy to These Bones

This course examines Ezekiel’s visions, symbols, judgments, and messages of restoration. Students examine the valley of dry bones, the role of the watchman, the glory of God, idolatry, responsibility, and the rebuilding of a people in exile. The course teaches how to read Ezekiel’s vivid imagery and physical actions as a prophetic call to spiritual accountability and renewed life.

BMCB BCH 305 — Daniel: Dreams, Enemies & Surviving the King’s House

This course examines Daniel’s faith, wisdom, dreams, interpretation, political survival, and deliverance in a foreign kingdom. Students study the furnace, the lions’ den, the writing on the wall, and the rise and fall of earthly empires. Daniel provides a powerful model for spiritual discernment, maintaining integrity in hostile environments, and surviving without losing faith or purpose.
