House of Roots and Bones: BMCB The Gospels

BMCB BCH 401 — Matthew: Kingdom, Authority & Righteous Living

This course examines Matthew’s Gospel through the Kingdom of Heaven, righteousness, spiritual authority, discipleship, and practical obedience. Students study Jesus as teacher, healer, deliverer, and King while exploring the Sermon on the Mount, parables, spiritual warfare, and the cost of discipleship. The course highlights how Matthew’s teaching speaks to personal conduct, community life, and spiritual authority in real-world conditions.

BMCB BCH 402 — Mark: Jesus the Working Healer

This course presents Mark’s Gospel as a fast-moving account of Jesus in action. Students examine healing, deliverance, exorcism, authority over unclean spirits, compassion, and confrontation with religious and political power. Mark’s emphasis on what Jesus does provides a foundation for understanding spiritual authority as more than belief because it is also demonstrated through practical works. The course prepares students to recognize the urgency, power, and cost of committed spiritual service.

BMCB BCH 403 — Luke: Healing, Women, Outsiders & the Poor

This course examines Luke’s Gospel through healing, compassion, justice, women, outsiders, the poor, and the reversals central to the good news. Students study Jesus’ concern for the marginalized, His teaching on wealth, and His consistent engagement with those excluded by religious and social systems. Luke’s attention to prayer, the Holy Spirit, and right relationship provides a powerful Biblical framework for holistic ministry. The course demonstrates that deliverance and healing are for real people in real conditions, not just religious insiders.

BMCB BCH 404 — John: Word, Water, Spirit & Signs

This course examines John’s Gospel through the Word, spiritual rebirth, living water, light, signs, and the deep spiritual meaning of who Jesus is. Students study the Samaritan woman, the man born blind, Lazarus, and other signs that reveal Jesus’ divine nature while answering human need. The course explores how belief, encounter, and transformation work together in John’s narrative. John prepares students to understand spiritual realities that cannot always be seen but are made known through Jesus’ words, works, and presence.
